About Caguas
Caguas calls itself the Ciudad Criolla, and the city has worked hard to back the title up. The Plaza Palmer is one of the cleanest and best-cared-for plazas in Puerto Rico, surrounded by museums (tobacco, popular art, history) that together tell a richer local story than most town centers manage.
Outside the center, the Jardín Botánico y Cultural sprawls across an old sugar hacienda, mixing native plants, taíno-themed gardens, and walking trails that feel a long way from the city. Caguas is a working metropolitan center in the central valley, easy to reach from San Juan but distinct in its own right — and proudly so.
