About Peñuelas
Peñuelas sits on Puerto Rico's south coast, between Guayanilla and Ponce. The town combines coast (Tallaboa Bay) with mountains (south cordillera), citrus agriculture (Peñuelas mandarin oranges are famous across the island), and a rural identity preserved despite proximity to Ponce's metro area. In June the whole town turns red with flame-tree blooms — required photography. Side roads climb to spectacular Caribbean views and drop to lightly visited local beaches.

MemoryMy family harvested sweet mandarin in Peñuelas for three generations. The difference from imported mandarin is like water and wine. Once you taste ours fresh, you don't want any other.

Local GemJune in Peñuelas. Flame trees as far as you can see. I drove from San Juan just to see them. No regrets. It's a living postcard of Puerto Rico.
