About Bayamón
Bayamón is Puerto Rico's second-largest city, over 200,000 people, and although attached to San Juan, it has its own identity. The Luis A. Ferré Science Park is one of the most-visited educational and recreational spaces on the island — science museums, lake, picnic areas, and a planetarium that still runs.
The Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum hosts basketball games, concerts, and events. The historic center, around Plaza Tomás Rivera, preserves the church and old houses. And chicharrón — the famous crispy pork crackling — is a local culinary tradition worth the trip. Bayamón is metro at scale with a pueblo's heart.

MemoryI grew up going to the Science Park every couple of months with my abuelo. Today I bring my kids. The Apollo capsule is still there, and the kids look at it the same way I did.

Food SpotFor those who say Bayamón is just a suburb: the traditional chicharrón isn't in San Juan. You have to come up. That's the difference.
