About Cidra
Cidra is one of the highest central towns accessible from the metropolitan area — cool climate, mountain views, and a strong identity around the poultry industry. It's called "Pueblo de los Pollos" because historically one of the largest poultry industries on the island was concentrated here; the November Festival del Pollo celebrates that with parade, food, and music.
Lago de Cidra, a mountain-ringed reservoir, is one of the most beautiful lakes in central Puerto Rico. There are picnic areas, a short trail along the water, and especially memorable sunrise views. Cidra is 40 minutes from Caguas and an hour from San Juan — an accessible mountain escape without having to cross the island.

Carmen
MemoryFestival del Pollo since I was five. Mom would take me to the parade, we'd buy fried chicken at the kiosko, sleep in the car on the way back. That ritual doesn't change.
Ramón
Local GemFor those in the metro who feel cramped: one hour to Cidra, sunrise at the lake, back. Fully resets your head.
